Rules
(Please be sure to read EVERYTHING. All rules apply to ALL members. No exceptions will be made.)
• This should really go without saying, but please keep IC/OOC drama separate. Simply put, IC drama = good (because really, what fun would it be if everyone got along?), OOC = bad. We really don't want to hear it. In the past, we haven't really had a whole lot of OOC drama, so this really shouldn't be a problem at all.
• There is NO character limit, as of right now. Please just make sure you can keep up with the amount of characters you have. If having more than one character is too much for you, just stay with the one.
• After your first entry is posted, all entries after that should be made FRIENDS ONLY.
• Please, PLEASE be realistic with your PB choice. Using someone like Dakota Fanning to play a senior in high school is not going to cut it. Please refer to the taken list before deciding on a PB.
• DO NOT go changing your character's play-by every week. It gets annoying and confusing. If anything, the PB should be changed once, twice tops. If you wish to change the person your character is played by, contact us and we will approve it and fix it on the taken list.
• Be active! What fun is a role-play when nobody is active? Right now, we won't make a requirement amount of updates per month or week or whatever, unless it gets to the point where it's only a couple of people updating per month. The mods are usually very lenient on activity. If you need to go on a hiatus, please let a mod know.
• Try to use correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling. No body is perfect and mistakes will be made. It's not that HUGE of a deal, but keep the net speak to a minimum.
• On the application, where it asks if you read the rules, please put the name of your favorite band. Just one, please!
• Absolutely, positively, NO GODMOD-ING. Basically, this means you are in control of the actions of your character and your character alone. Don't go killing other people's characters or setting up storylines before making sure it's okay with the character's creator.
• Please put a disclaimer in your userinfo somewhere. We don't care if it just simply says "FAKE, JOINnvmod" or if it's a long drawn out explanation. Just make sure it's known that this is all made up for a RPG.
• Your character's journal DOES NOT have to include your character's name, though it is encouraged. Same goes for AIM screen names. Please make sure it somehow relates to your character, though, since that would only make sense.
• If you feel the need to have a thread that's rated over PG-13, please put some sort of warning on it. Not everybody wants to read things like that.

Quick facts about North Valley
• The official mascot of the high school is the blue devil.
• The school colors are silver and navy blue.
•nvmod accepts high school students as well as NVHS alumni. (All current characters are high school or college students.)
• Location: North Valley, New York. (Yes, the town is completely made up.)
• North Valley is located just a few hours outside of New York City and is a medium-sized town. It's about an hour and a half drive to the nearest beach. The rich people stick to associating themselves with other rich people, the middle class associates with select upper class people and mostly middle class people, etcetera etcetera.
• For the rich, reputation is everything. Their business is all over town and their every move is watched.
• The richer people live in huge houses in mostly gated communities, in the "upper side" of town. The lower class people tend to live more in the suburban areas of town.
• The mall is probably the biggest teen hang out spot, though it's certainly not the only one. It has three floors and is equipped with a bowling ally, a movie theater, and a ton of designer stores. (Of course, there's the ever popular stores like Hot Topic, JC Penny, Spencers, etcetera etcetera.)

First of all, you need to make a first post with some background information about the character you would like to bring into the community. This first post should basically be like a mini-biography and should include personality, habits, random facts, etc; be descriptive and creative! We want to get a idea of what your character is like, inside and out. PLEASE MAKE YOUR FIRST POST PUBLIC. If you do not wish to do so and make it friends only, make sure you friend the mod journal otherwise we won't be able to read what you've written. After you've made your first post, fill out the application below. There are no waits for adds; you just need to wait for a mod to review your application and your first post and you should hear back from us within a very short amount of time.
